Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Albert Sola-Faba, trading as CheckTwin (“CheckTwin”, “we”, “us”, “our”), collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data. We are committed to handling your data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What Data We Collect
Landing Page
- Name and email address submitted via the Google Forms early access sign-up
In-App
- Inspector profile: name, email address, phone number
- Company details: company name, address, logo
- Property data: full property addresses
- Inspection data: inspection dates, condition ratings, room and item notes
- Media: photos and photo annotations (drawings, highlights)
- Meter readings: gas, electricity, water, and other utilities
Device Data
- iOS version and device model — collected only if you opt in to diagnostic and usage data sharing via Apple’s system settings. This data is processed by Apple, not directly by CheckTwin.
3. How We Collect Data
- Directly from you — information you enter into the CheckTwin app or the early access sign-up form
- Via Google Forms — name and email submitted on the landing page
- Via Apple’s diagnostic systems — device/crash data if you have enabled diagnostic sharing on your device (Apple-controlled, user-opt-in)

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced these against your rights and concluded our interests are not overridden by your data-protection interests.
5. How We Use Your Data
- Generate inspection reports (PDF) based on data you enter
- Enable property and portfolio management within the app
- Respond to early access enquiries and support requests
- Contact you about product updates or launch news (only where you have consented)
- Future: sync your data across devices via iCloud or our own backend (details will be updated in this policy before those features go live)
6. Data Storage & Security
Current state — on-device only All inspection data is stored locally on your iOS device using SwiftData. CheckTwin does not currently transmit or store your inspection data on any external server.
Future: iCloud sync When we introduce iCloud sync, your data will reside in your own iCloud account and will be governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. We will update this policy before this feature is released.
Future: own backend We plan to introduce our own backend service. Data will be stored on UK-based servers and protected by appropriate safeguards. Full details will be added to this policy before the service launches.
Security measures
- Apple’s iOS application sandbox
- Encryption at rest (iOS Data Protection)
- Encryption in transit (TLS) for any future network communication
7. Data Retention

8. Sharing Your Data
We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Google — your early access sign-up data is collected via Google Forms and is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy. Google Fonts is used on our landing page (font requests only; no tracking).
- Apple — when iCloud sync is enabled, your data is processed by Apple and subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy. Crash and diagnostic data may be shared with Apple if you have enabled this in your device settings.
- Future backend provider — details will be added to this policy before the service launches.
- Legal obligation — we may disclose data if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal process.
9. International Data Transfers
- Google Forms data may be processed outside the UK. Google relies on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the ICO to ensure adequate protection.
- Apple iCloud data is primarily stored in the UK and EU. Apple complies with applicable data-transfer frameworks.
Where we transfer data outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK GDPR Chapter V.
10. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Right to restriction — request that we restrict how we process your data
- Right to data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to withdraw consent — withdraw any consent you have given, at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal

12. Children’s Privacy
CheckTwin is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately at info@checktwin.com and we will delete it promptly.
13. Cookies & Tracking
- The landing page uses Google Fonts, which makes font requests to Google’s servers. No tracking cookies are set by CheckTwin on the landing page. No analytics or advertising trackers are used.
- The CheckTwin app does not use cookies.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify you via an in-app notice or by email (if we hold your email address). The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. Your continued use of CheckTwin after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
